How to read this
  • Tracker counts are announcements. Some cuts are phased over years, scaled back, or never happen.
  • "AI" as a reason is employer-stated. It can be overstated (to sound modern) or understated (to avoid backlash).
  • Trackers disagree on AI-linked totals. Compare trends within one source rather than numbers across sources.
  • Exposure is not job loss. Exposed work can be complemented by AI as well as replaced.
  • Industry and country tags on companies were assigned by us for filtering, not by the source.

Exposure around the world

Exposure measures how much of a job's tasks AI could perform. Richer economies have more office and knowledge work, so they are more exposed, both to disruption and to productivity gains.

  • Exposure is not job loss: exposed work can be helped by AI as well as replaced.
  • Women are over-represented in the most exposed clerical roles.
  • Global forecasts expect more jobs created than displaced by 2030.

Exposure means AI can do part of the work. It is not the same as job loss.
